Why Luxmi

Kit that holds up past station six.

Most race kit is either running gear or gym gear. A hybrid race needs both, for about 90 minutes, soaked. So we designed for the moments that usually go wrong.

  • 01
No ride-up on the lungesHigh-rise waistbands with grip tape and liners that stay put through 100 m of knee touches.
  • 02
Venting where you overheatLaser-cut and open-mesh zones on the back and chest, where heat builds on the erg and wall balls.
  • 03
Grip you can trustA silicone-palm glove for sled rope and carry handles, fingerless so you keep feel on the ball.
The race

8 runs. 8 stations. One clock.

A hybrid fitness race alternates a 1 km run with a functional station, eight times over. The format is the same at every event, so your time works as a benchmark you can chase from race to race.

Transition zoneCalled the Roxzone. You pass through it 16 times, and those minutes add up faster than most athletes expect.
DivisionsOpen, Pro, Doubles and Relay. Pro uses heavier sleds, carries and wall balls than Open.
Race against yourselfEvery event uses the same distances and order, so a finish time anywhere compares with one anywhere else.

Race playbook

Train smart, race smarter.

The short version of what we wish we'd known before our first race.

01
An 8-week buildFrom "I signed up" to the start line
+
Weeks 1–2Base. Three easy runs, two full-body strength days, and one session learning each station's technique at low intensity.
Weeks 3–5Build. Add one compromised run session each week (a station straight into a 1 km run) and push station weights toward race standard.
Weeks 6–7Simulate. One half or full race simulation per week at goal pace. Practise transitions and your wall ball sets.
Week 8Taper. Cut volume by about half, keep a little intensity, sleep more, and don't try anything new.
02
Pacing the raceWhere most finish times are won or lost
+
  • Run 1 should feel too easy. The adrenaline will lie to you.
  • Aim for even run splits. If run 7 is far slower than run 1, you went out too hard.
  • Walk into the transition zone with a plan for each station, and do not stop to think.
  • Use the row to bring your heart rate down before the carry and lunges.
  • Plan your wall ball sets in advance and stick to them.
03
Fuel and hydrationSimple and practised
+
  • Eat a familiar, carb-focused meal 2 to 3 hours before your wave.
  • Sip water with electrolytes in the hour before. Don't chug it at the start.
  • If you expect to race longer than about 75 minutes, practise taking a gel mid-race in training first.
  • Nothing new on race day. That includes shoes, socks and breakfast.
04
Race-day kit checklistPack it the night before
+
  • Race top and short you have trained in at least twice
  • Shoes with grip for turf and a firm, stable midsole for sleds
  • Grip gloves, if your event allows them
  • Warm layer for the wait and cool-down
  • Gel, bottle, ID, wave time and a spare pair of socks

What is a hybrid fitness race?

A race that mixes running and functional strength. The best-known format is HYROX: eight 1 km runs, each followed by a station (SkiErg, sled push, sled pull, burpee broad jumps, rowing, farmers carry, sandbag lunges and wall balls).

Who is Luxmi Life for?

Women training for hybrid races, from a first Open race to chasing a Pro time. The kit works just as well for everyday training.

How do sizes work?

Apparel runs XS to XL. A full size guide will be published before Drop 01 opens. Pick your usual size on the waitlist and we'll check fit with you before you order.

Are the tools free?

Yes. All eight calculators run in your browser with no sign-up.

Are you affiliated with HYROX?

No. Luxmi Life is an independent brand. HYROX is a trademark of its owner, and we use the name only to describe the race format our kit is designed for.
